Class Passes expire 6 months from date of purchase or 3 months from first class used; whichever comes first. Class Passes are non-transferable.



May attend an unlimited number of classes titled "Introduction to Iyengar Yoga",   "Genlte", "All Levels", or "Women's All Ages and Stages" within 30 days of first class attended. Let your teacher know BEFORE CLASS if on that day you have any injuries, health conditions, or if you are menstruating.


Also, before you come to class, look over the class descriptions closely and make sure you are choosing a class that will best suit your needs, goals, experience and fitness level.  Iyengar Yoga is a vast subject and is capable of meeting the needs of all kinds of people.  At PYS we strive to provide classes of different types to help you find a good place to start as well as a way to progress, safely, intelligently, and methodically.  (see our class descriptions) (watch our intro video, courtesy of RoadstoBliss.com)


Arrive 10-15  minutes before the start of class.


Please turn cell phones off upon entering the studio.


Please no perfumes or colognes.


Wear comfortable non-binding clothes.  First, be comfortable, but the ideal attire allows you and your instructor to see your knees, ankles, shoulders, wrists, etc. clearly.  This way your physical alignment in the poses is more visible.  Shorts, shortsleeve shirts, sleeveless tops, or snug yet non binding leggings or long sleeve tops are best for this.


You will need to be barefooted.


It is advisable not to eat immediately before class. Avoid eating or eat very lightly 1-2 hours before a class.


Plan to leave all personal items such as water bottles, hand bags, and extra clothing layers in the changing room areas.


It is an excellent idea to bring your own mat. But you need not bring anything since we provide all that you need for yoga class, including mats. There is no fee to borrow our mats during your class.

At Portland Yoga Studio we highly recommend that students move toward regularity of class time/s and teacher/s.  (see principle of regular practice)  Ultimately, and as soon as possible, we encourage regular home practice of any amount, wherein your time in class becomes a refinement of and a support to the personal practice you develop while on your own.  It is a fundamental principle in yoga practice that uninterrupted, intelligent practice is vital to unlocking the fullest benefits of the work. Committing to study with regularity in terms of teacher/s and class time/s enables the teacher/s to develop insight concerning the student's needs and goals and gives the student a chance to relate to the progressive and evolving effects that a given teacher's perspective can bring.
